Germantown
Cemetery Restoration Project. Submitted by Betty (Crocker)
Lumsden, Sec'y/Treas of the the Germantown Baptist
Church Cemetery Trust (email:
blumsden@nsis.com)
A small,
overgrown Baptist Church cemetery in Germantown, Albert
County, New Brunswick has not been used since 1934. It
and the church were established in 1851.
About
fifteen years ago the inscriptions from 26 stones were
documented. A group of interested descendants are
presently contacting "known" relatives for
financial support or "free gratis" labour in hopes
of restoring this 148-year-old cemetery to a semblance of its
original self.
If you
have cause to think you might be related, a list of the known
names are below. Eight of the 21 stones are
FULLERTON's. A mailing to 31 descendants went out last
week and there are no Fullertons represented ! Could a relative of yours be here ??!!
