HAMILTON I am trying to locate information on my grandfather, John Edward Hamilton who was born in Hopewell N.B. in 1866 (?). I've found conflicting info on the birth of a Jonathan Edward Hamilton (RS141A2/2 Index to County Birth Register) and John Edward Hamilton (RS141A1b Index to Lte Registration of Births) on April 06 1866 with parents Thomas R. Hamilton and Harriet Russell. Family lore has it that he may have had one brother, that he was raised on a farm that was near that of C.D. Howe's family (?) and that he 'ran away to sea' at the age of 13 and sailed around the horn. He did become a Master Mariner and married my grandmother in Vancouver B.C. in 1913.
