MacFARLANE. I'm looking for ancestry of Andrew MacFarlane b 1781 in Ireland and immigrated to Harvey about 1830 and his wife Catherine. His children were born in Derry, Ireland. Andrew had a brother King who settled in Lisson Settlement, Kings Co. There were also in the area at the time, Catherine MacFarlane, who married Gideon Tower, Lucy macFarlane who married Gersham Maxwell, and Elizabeth McFarlane who married James Mathews. I don't know if there is any relationship between all these Macfarlanes, but I find it an odd coincedence that they all showed up in the same area about the same time. I'm also interested in any descendants of this couple. I'm descended from their daughter Emily who married Thompson Maxwell Ward.

MacLATCHEY, MacNAUGHTON.  JESSIE MACLATCHEY married WILLIAM MACNAUGHTON The married home was the Tannery, Salisbury, N.B., but I suspect that Jessie came from south of Salisbury, as by 1915 she was widowed twice (second husband, Captain Carter) and living in Hopewell Cape. She was my husband's grandmother. Can you help?  Thanks,

MARKS,

Hi, I'm researching a possible lead to an ancestor that was born in Albert County, New Brunswick in abt. 1831.  Is there a link to any type of census information for this area?  The name I'm researching is Samuel G. Marks.  He died in Indiana, but is listed in the 1900 census as being born in Canada.  He immigrated in 1870, and already had been married 10 years to Mary.  Are there any marriage type of links for your area also??  Thank you so much for your time!  I know this is a long shot, but weirder things have come from a long shot :)!

McAFEE I am trying to find information on husbands gr gr grandparents.  His Great Grandfather William McAfee b 1841 married Naomi R. Colpitts 1865 in Elgin Parish.  Naomi died in 1885 and is buried in a field on or by a farm that was owned by Nettie and Howard Colpitts by the Little Current River.  Wm. died 1898 at a daughters home in Conn.

Family history has it that William's father was in the British Army sent to Ireland. He met an Irish lady, married and deserted the army and was smuggled out of Ireland to N.B. where he obtained a land grant which later became or was part of Mechanic Settlement.  William's father started a trade school at the settlement.

Wm. and Naomi had 10 children:

John McAfee m Jenny Steves or Steeves
James McAfee m Ines Gilipski
Annie McAfee m ?Hobbs
Mary McAfee m. John Crossman
Robert McAfee m Mable Graves
Wm. McAfee  never married.
Jenny (Jane) McAfee m Burpee Mitton
Catherine   died in childhood
Asa     never married
Ruth E. m. Adelbert Simpson (husbands grandparents)

Hutchison New Brunswick Directory 1865 66 shows 4 McAfees in Mechanic Settlement.  James, Samuel and 2 Williams all farmers.  Donegal had 2, a James a millwright and John a farmer.  There are McAfees buried in Donegal and Waterford.
Would appreciate any help with any information on McAfees. Thank you.

McALLISTER Am researching Luke McAllister [b.1811] in Ireland, arrived N.B. in 1832 with new bride Ann Flannigan. The union produced 9 children. I have names of the spouses but not the children of Luke's children. There are many references to St. Anselmes Church in Fox Creek [now Dieppe, I understand] to baptisms, marriages, etc, in the 1800's but when visiting the church this summer I found that the church cornerstone indicates 1900. Was there an older church of the same  name, and would these records be at the "new" church?

McALONEY I am doing research on any and all by the name of McAlonan, McAloney or similar spellings.  The name had various spellings in the early records, but most seemed to end up with the name McAloney.  They appear to have entered at St. John Port from Ireland and made their way thru New Brunswick to Nova Scotia.  Apparently there is a brook in Fundy National Park by the name of McAloney and some by that name remained in the area. Would appreciate receiving any information on these families. My thanks,

MULLIGAN. Robert and Ann Nixon Mulligan arrived in Harvey Parish's New Horton in 1855/56 with son William. Frank, George Robert, Anne, Jane/Jennie, Thomas, Arthur, and Lizzie followed.  I am still trying to find information on Anne, Jane, William, George, Robert, and Lizzie.  Frank and my gr grandfather Arthur came to the Portland, Maine area. Jane's son's William Baxter and Otto(?) are rumored to have lived in Saint John.  Their children are believed to still be there.  Who and where are they? Ann had two sons Ernest and Arthur.  What happened to their families. I know nothing of the others.

MURRAY - Charles and Jane (?) Murray, (along with their son James, b.1821) emigrated from Ireland, in 1824 and settled on 100 acres, at New Ireland, Harvey Parish. There, they raised at least six children:- James, as mentioned; John, b.1826; William, b.1828; Susan, b.1831; Charles, b.1834; Andrew, b.1836. There is some un-proven evidence that a second daughter, Mary Jane, was b. 1840. James married Sarah (?) and in the 1871 census, were the parents of 4 children and lived at Roxborough, Alma Parish. Charles and later Andrew, went to Charlotte Co. Where Charles married Margaret Crawford and later moved away. Andrew married Margaret Jane Wright and settled at New River, Charlotte Co.
I can be contacted by e-mail at richie@reach.net  or, Box 1181, Picton, Ont., K0K 2T0. (22/01/06) Thank you, Richard Murray
